A Call to Serve: Faith at the Heart of Lord’s Soap & Skin

More Than a Job (Even on Long Days)

In a world that moves fast and measures success by output, it’s easy to treat work as something to get through rather than something to offer. Clock in. Clock out. Repeat.

But that’s never been how I’ve understood this work.

For me, Lord’s Soap & Skin isn’t just a business focused on soap and skincare. It’s a calling. Not the dramatic, lightning-bolt kind, but the quieter kind that shows up daily and asks, Will you do this well? Will you do it honestly? Will you do it with care?

Some days that calling looks spiritual. Other days it looks like stirring a pot, blending oils, testing a balm, and cleaning up afterward. Both count.

Gifts Are Given, Not Claimed

I believe our abilities are gifts from God. Skills, creativity, patience, problem-solving, even the willingness to keep trying when a batch of soap or skincare doesn’t turn out as planned. None of that originates with us.

That belief shapes how I approach this work. Every task, no matter how small, becomes an opportunity to practice integrity. Making soap. Formulating skincare. Answering questions. Choosing ingredients. Pricing fairly. Telling the truth, even when it would be easier to embellish.

Integrity isn’t flashy. But it lasts.

Working as an Act of Worship (Even When It’s Ordinary)

Scripture reminds us, “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as for the Lord and not for men” (Colossians 3:23, ESV).

That verse applies just as much to soapmaking and skincare as it does to anything else. Every bar, balm, and blend is a small act of stewardship. A reminder that ordinary work can honor God when it’s done thoughtfully and without shortcuts.

That means caring for creation by choosing ingredients responsibly. It means making soaps and skincare that serve families well, without overpromising or exaggerating what these products are meant to do. It also means accepting that faithfulness isn’t always glamorous, but it is always meaningful.

Serving People, Not Just Producing Products

At its core, this work is about service. About offering something made with care into someone’s daily life. Soap and skincare are simple, but they’re also personal. They touch families, routines, and moments that matter more than we often realize.

If this work can support comfort, trust, and everyday care, then it’s doing what it’s meant to do.

A Closing Thought

This business isn’t here to impress. It’s here to serve. To work faithfully. To steward well. To remember that even small things, done honestly, can carry meaning.

That’s the heart behind Lord’s Soap & Skin.

Excellence practiced daily.
Service offered one bar, one balm, one careful batch at a time.
